If you’re reading this post, then the chances are you have the same problem I did… I spent two frustrating days searching for solutions for no sound on Windows 10 PC until finally fixing the issue with something very simple.

So, I’ll start with the fix that worked for me and then list some of the other solutions for no sound that I researched:

There is a simple answer to this, emu sound cards are professional sound cards for professional audio applications. Games are not such. Simply the e-mu doesn't support this particular game's way of using audio. Or vica versa gta doesn't support your sound card. I myself have an e-mu 1212m card and it too doesn't work with some games, gta iv for. The San Andreas Audio Toolkit (SAAT) is a set of commandline tools useful for modding the PC version of the video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. SAAT allows the importing of Ogg Vorbis files into SA audio streams and the importing of WAVe files into SA sfx archives. Open your audio folder for GTA San Andreas, open the SFX folder. And replace the files in this folder with the files in the SFX folder of the zip, same thing should be done for the streams folder. After that congratulations guys, your audio problem is solved. 1. Worked (for me): as per the video, right mouse on the audio icon in the bottom toolbar, open up the ‘Volume Mixer’ menu. GTA V needs to be running or it won’t appear. Check if the sound is muted and if so, unmute. I finally found this solution as I noticed that Google Chrome had no sound either and that was where I noticed this fix.
2. Works for others: this one seems to work for a number of people given the comments online. You essentially need to run the Direct X setup again. Navigate to it via Program Files > Rockstar Games > GTA V > Redistributibles > Direct X and then click on DXSETUP to update Direct X
3. Might work: within the Rockstar launcher there is a Settings menu (top right). When you’re within Settings, click on GTA V and then try the Verify Integrity option. This checks for missing or corrupted files and when I ran it, the infamous Direct X showed up. Unfortunately, it didn’t work for me, but might for you

• To fix the audio, download thisextract the files inside to the audio folder in your.
• Some people were complaining (including me) of problems regarding sound in GTA S.A. Basically, after some time, you can only hear the music (no voices or other sound effects) and the subtitles are displayed so quickly that you can't even read them.

These are the list of successful options that I found online. I also tried many (many) other things. I didn’t go down the nuclear option of uninstalling and reinstalling GTA V, but did use the Repair option which probably does a similar job to option three above.

Along with this list I reinstalled my sound drivers, disabled and re-enabled my speakers and tried the Windows sound troubleshooter. This last one is worth a try at the very least.

I also checked my computer history and saw that there had been a Windows update a week ago which seemed to correspond with the time that the sound went. It took a full morning to revert those changes, but they did nothing. I also deleted all my temporary files to no effect.

I’m still none the wiser as to what made the change in my sound settings in the first place.

• I'm using 7zip, but you can use winrar or something else what supports zip format and allows you to set compression type.
• Add files to archive. It's easier even to create a new archive with [b]store[/b] compression (see screenshot†for 7zip).
• rename your ZIP into OSW (MR.zip -> MR.osw).
• run SAAF and open your OSW file.
• SAAF asks you to create or fix IDX file, so just click 'Yes'.
• Done. Copy OSW and IDX files (MR.osw and MR.osw.idx) to your phone.
